Roots new Head Coach Juan Guerra and Technical Director Jordan Ferrell have finalized the technical staff ahead of the 2022 season. Returning to the staff in 2022 are Assistant Coach Noah Delgado, Mental Health and Sports Performance Coach Lisa Bonta Sumii, and Manager of Soccer Operations Valentin Saldaña.
Joining the team for 2022 will be Guerra’s 1st Assistant Marcos Reina, Goalkeeping Coach Peter Davis, Strength and Conditioning Coach Jeronimo Aimar, Head Athletic Trainer Ivan Villaneda, Director of Soccer Operations Dustin Cleaver, and Equipment Manager Neil Falcone.
“I’m incredibly fortunate to have such an incredible staff of humans around me first and foremost,” commented Coach Guerra. “These are people I know, I trust and I respect a great deal. I know we have the perfect group of people to lead this locker room to great heights.”
Roots Second Assistant and former Captain Nana Attakora remains with Oakland Roots as the Director of Player Personnel while 2021 Head Coach Jordan Ferrell continues as Roots Technical Director.
“It’s exciting to see the staff come together,” said Jordan Ferrell. “We have a great mix of people who have come from diverse backgrounds and experiences in the world of soccer to provide unique perspectives and quality to our team as we grow into our second year in the USL.”
