
Oakland Roots traveled to Greenville, South Carolina a trip of 2,212 miles for their first ever Lamar Hunt US Open Cup match. Greenville Triumph and Oakland battled for the opening 30 minutes before Jake Keegan chipped Taylor Bailey to give the host the 1-0 lead. Oakland battled back in the second half in search of an equalizer, but could not find the goal. Greenville were able to find a second late in the match through a Don Smart counter attack in the 94th minute.
Roots now have the weekend off before hosting San Diego Loyal, at Laney College on Wednesday, April 13th with kickoff set for 7:00 PM PT.
